This year marked the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, an iconic World War I victory for Canada. Despite the glory associated with it, it remains one of the bloodiest battles in the country's military history. Presented in partnership with Alliance Française Halifax, join Dr. Mélanie Morin-Pelletier, First World War Historian at the Canadian War Museum for a bilingual presentation about how this tactical victory on the battlefield has become an emblematic event of the Canadian nation.

Dr. Morin-Pelletier is interested in the human experiences of war, whether on the battlefield, in the military hospital or on the home front, author of Breaking the Wings of the Angel: Canadian Military Nurses, 1914-1918, and curator of several exhibits including Fighting in Flanders - Gas. Mud. Memory.
