Come hear Canadian, Scotiabank Giller Prize-winning author Esi Edugyan speak on the themes of immigration and Canadian identity. She will also read excerpts from her novels Half-Blood Blues, The Second Life of Samuel Tyne and Dreaming of Elsewhere: Observations on Home.

Audiences will experience the literary world with Esi as she reads excerpts from her works. A special Q & A and book signing will follow and select titles will be available for purchase at the Pier 21 Gift Shop.

Admission is free, but space is limited.

Come hear Canadian author Lawrence Hill speak on his new novel The Illegal. Inspired by the survival stories of undocumented refugees around the world, The Illegal tells the journey of a young marathon runner, Keita Ali, fleeing for his life from a repressive government and forced into hiding.

The Illegal, available in stores on September 1, 2015, is Lawrence Hill’s first work of fiction since his critically acclaimed novel The Book of Negroes. Signed copies of The Illegal will be available for purchase at the Pier 21 Gift Shop prior to the event.
